Coaching helps clients identify and achieve personal and/or work-related goals and to overcome difficulties that interfere in their lives. It focuses on the present and the future, rather than probing deeply into past psychological difficulties. However, I am trained and qualified to address problems such as mild depression and anxiety, that may have origins in past experiences, and that impact on the client’s motivation, confidence and abilities to move their issues forward. Although not psychotherapy, life coaching is based on cognitive behavioural methods and is called Cognitive Behavioural Coaching.
Its main emphasis is to improve confidence and self esteem , if necessary by briefly addressing mild mental health problems at the outset.
